When searching for a nursery for their first child, Mr & Mrs Rashid (owners) were not completely satisfied with what they found. That’s when they decided to open a nursery in Dubai with a high-quality early learning programme.

With Mr Rashid’s Bachelor’s degree in economics from the USA, and Mrs Rashid’s Montessori qualification and Master’s degree in early years education, the couple now has more than 24 years of experience owning and running nurseries in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi:

  • 1999: Opened Kids Cottage Nursery in Dubai (sold in 2010)
  • 2009: Opened Step By Step Nursery in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
  • 2022: Divested Step By Step Nursery branches in Dubai and rebranded Step By Step Nursery Abu Dhabi as Discovery Nursery

Over the years, they have poured their passion for family-focused, quality care into these projects, receiving many accolades and acknowledgements along the way:

  • They were ranked among Abu Dhabi’s 3 leading nurseries by EdArabia
  • They earned accreditation by Preschool Learning Alliance (now Early School Alliance), a UK-based quality assurance organisation
  • They were named “Outstanding” by Abu Dhabi educational authority: ADEK
